Angeles Caidos
was born like a distant but very clear idea for Silvia Rivero
Tabares (the godmother of this brand) in her teenage years.
Surrounded in the small and underground -in those times- gothic
movement of Buenos Aires the idea grew and developed althought for
many people it seemed a madness or something inconceivable.
It could easily be said that Silvia is one of the pioneers of gothic
fashion in Argentina. On 9 of August 2003 Angeles Caidos - Dark &
Gothic opens its doors in Flores, a neighbourhood in the Federal
Capital of The Argentine Republic. From that moment the shop becamed
a key meeting point for the folowers of the goth movement, a place
where many found old friends and made new ones, where everybody felt
free to be themselves and found great clothes and designs on their
taste.
Silvia was always faithful to the classic medieval style and because
of that "devotion" of her Angeles Caidos grew untill it
becamed one of the most important gothic stores in Buenos Aires.
In March of 2006 the shop was moved to Belgrano neighbourhood where
settles down definitively. Along with the movement a new stage began
and Angeles Caidos started to manufacture new products, such
as ornaments and contracted the most prestigeous line of gothic
shoes from BsAs.
During four years the shop brought its touch in this wonderful dark
world but still Silvia wanted to give them more so in December 2007
she decided to change the shop's appearance and so the friends and
customers received a true, unique gift, a piece of the classic
gothic style, right in the heart of Belgrano.
This way Angeles Caidos wanted to offer its appreciation to
everybody that stayed true to it all the way.
It was in April 2008 that Silvia decides to start a new chapter in
her life and headed to Spain, closing the gates of what was for many
"their first place where they bought black clothes", but she will
keep on creating and bring her contribution to this world that she
loves so.
An new era is born for Angeles Caidos- the online shop.
I hope this wonderful brand will reach into everybody's heart, as it
reached into mine.
